Is John McCain too dumb to lead America?
He graduated with a class rank of 894 out of
899 students at the Naval Academy. He wasn't a leader then,
and he isn't a leader now.

Although the mental capacity of John McCain isn't the sole focus of this site, it is an interesting conundrum. John McCain isn't a smart guy, in fact, to state it kindly, he seems to be seriously slow-witted. Academically, he was a failure at the US Naval Academy. He graduated with a class rank of 894th out of 899 students. He was definitely one of the dimmest bulbs of his class - but, of course, someone has to finish last. Just don't let that someone become President of the United States. Even George Bush, not known for his academic prowess, made "average" grades, and that was at an Ivy League school!
The privileged son of an Navy Admiral, McCain was a Navy fighter pilot (generally, officers with his academics never make pilot, hmmmm - and he lost an unheard of 5 Navy aircraft during his tenure - 4 in accidents, 1 of which was while trying to make it to a football game on the taxpayer's dollar, and 1 in combat), and was shot down and captured by the North Vietnamese while bombing civilian targets (def: terrorist is a term that signifies violence against civilians). As a prisoner of war, he was subject to both rigorous physical and mental torture (psychological issues?). However, a long stint as a POW doesn't necessarily equate to greatness at leading our country. In fact, the radical imperialistic militarism that McCain preaches should actually preclude him from being president.

But, back to the subject matter at hand - McCain has never claimed to be a smart guy, but recent events show that he may be slipping even further in mental capacity and subject to the "senior moments" that mark the normal mental atrophy of the elderly and / or some sort of organic brain disease. If he gets off his "prepared script" (he always has one, if you will notice), or steps away from his many "handlers", this becomes even more evident. To cover up his inadequacies, he has become the master of relying on circular answers, smart alec comments, and condescending smirks - none of which are becoming to a American president.
To give McCain credit, some of his recent blunders may be more due to ignorance than stupidity. Some examples - McCain, a proponent of a "100 year" Iraqi war, has repeatedly demonstrated that he doesn't know the difference between the Sunni and Shiite factions (See Is McCain Lying, Stupid or Both?), why they are fighting, or for that matter, why WE are still involved in a foreign civil war. He believes that the Iranian president, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, is the one "calling the shots" in Iran. Note to McCain - the president of Iran is actually "only" a figurehead position with little power, and the country is still largely controlled by religious factions. It is through this fallacy that he reacts with threats of an unavoidable war. Are you willing to sacrifice your own children for Iraq or Iran? A vote for John McCain is a vote for another doomed and unjust war that will steal the father's, husbands, sons and daughters of America for years to come.
John McCain is a warmongering, "tax and spend" liberal, who is a contradiction to the true conservative philosophy of small government, peace, liberty, and individual rights. Why do the Neo-con elite love McCain? One reason: He is their puppet. Not smart enough to think for himself, easily brainwashed into believing the rhetoric, and willing to compromise true Republican ideals for a NATO sponsored global government and war-mongering expansionism, McCain is a perfect stooge for their cause. McCain has shown that he is only too willing to send our children to the "meat grinder" of foreign conflicts based on corporate and global greed.
So, is John McCain dumber than Bush? Without an IQ test and mental evaluation, there is no way to be certain. As with Bush, it is obvious neither are smart enough to think for themselves. The cronies of the Bush Whitehouse's military industrial complex seem to be pulling the strings of both, so the point is probably moot. They are desperate to insure McCain takes the Whitehouse - it has been widely reported that many Bush cronies will face indictment for a broad spectrum of crimes if a Democrat takes office.
It is obvious to America - John McCain is part of the problem in Washington, and is too dumb (or crooked) to come up with the solution :)
McCain has been called the "worst Republican candidate ever" by many. Today's media has propagandized the news to the extent that we are no longer questioning the real issues - war, the economy, the oppressive tax codes, and the erosion of our freedoms. Wake up America, it's time to set yourself free!
